Devlog #2 (January 2024)
Hello everyone,
This devlog will be short since there isn’t much to update. Honestly, January hasn’t been my month. School has started up again by the time I’m posting this, and to top it off, I caught the nastiest infection these past two weeks— let me tell you, it was not fun. Every time I ate, my blood pressure would tank, so I started eating less to avoid it. But then I’d pass out from not eating enough. Throw in all the other symptoms, and I was basically a zombie by the end of it.
The Good
We’ve made some progress on the script, edited around 20,000 words so far.
The Bad
Unfortunately, we’ve down another programmer.
With Bobbert focusing on the script, she’s stepping away from programming, which leaves me trying to fill the gap.
I’ve been learning more about programming while working on the patch, but honestly, it’s been stressful. To make matters worse, the code left behind by our former programmers (who are no longer on the team) has been a mess. The deeper I dive into it, the more issues I uncover.
This has left me torn, I’m hesitant to bring in someone new because of the current state of the code, but at the same time, managing everything on my own has been incredibly overwhelming.
In Closing
I’m taking a break from social media and itch for a bit. Every time I log in, the stress just hits me hard. I can feel interest fading as time goes on, and that “not measuring up” feeling is really hard to shake. I’m just hoping I’ll find the willpower to see this through.
Until next time~

Omggg I hope times will get better for you. You’re very capable and great at what you do and I truly and wholeheartedly hope everything will go well for you and for the team.
I know the feeling of « not measuring up » and perfectionism in general, I still don’t know how to get rid of it but I hope you’ll be able to one way or another.
In my opinion, your vn is one of the greatest I’ve ever played on itch.io
Wishing you the best and good health. Times are very tough for you at the moment, but I hope things will get better for you. It's good to take a break once in a while because it helps to refresh you. Thank you for the update and good luck with your schooling.
I'm not sure if my advice is sound since I'm not experienced in game making but, you can have an outside programmer take a look at the code first and see if they can do anything about it then work from there. Or contact the old programmer to ask them to explain the code.
Hang in there! You guys got this! ♥
But be sure to take breaks as needed, there's no need to rush. Good things are worth waiting for.
Feel free to reach out if you need some extra help with something or just someone to vent frustrations on. :)
